DGTAL was born during the COVID-19 pandemic when Arndt Gossmann's insurance venture with Munich Re encountered challenges due to the global crisis. Simultaneously, deep tech developer Florian Herzog found himself with extra capacity. To give their teams purpose, Arndt and Florian began exploring how AI could revolutionize insurance, focusing on claims handling and portfolio assessment. By 2021, they had built a prototype, and in 2022, they co-founded DGTAL with Vanda Giannara and Richardt Hundt to develop a scalable AI solution, which was successfully launched the following year. 

DGTAL is backed by a strong investor base that believes in our mission to transform the global insurance industry through cutting-edge AI. Key investors include 1750 Ventures, the venture arm of VGH Insurance, two prominent family offices, and the investment firms of two of our founders.
